Yoctobe

Clinical software platforms

Promed HIS and Prolab LIS are production systems, not prototypes — deployed in hospitals and laboratories across Europe where uptime has clinical consequences. Middleware and data integration extend the same patient record to your instruments and third-party systems. Four platforms. One architecture. One engineering team.

Four Platforms On One Architecture

Each solution below covers what the platform does, who uses it, and how it connects to your clinical and operational stack. Yoctobe develops all four from Liverpool — sharing integration patterns, security models and QMS-aware engineering so your estate grows coherently rather than as a patchwork of vendor silos.

Providers across the UK and EU choose Yoctobe when they need platforms that respect GDPR, clinical safety and long-term maintainability. Deploy Promed HIS as your EHR centre of gravity, Prolab LIS for laboratory operations, middleware for device throughput, and data integration to connect everything else — or start with one platform and expand on the same architecture.

Hospital information system

Promed HIS

Promed HIS — hospital information system for practices, clinics and hospitals

Promed HIS runs seven interconnected modules on one patient record — EHR, laboratory, pharmacy with drug interaction screening, RIS/PACS imaging, visits, billing and stock management. A clinician ordering a test during a consultation sees validated results on the same screen where they prescribed; finance sees invoice-ready events tied to documented encounters; pharmacy sees the interaction-checked prescription with current formulary stock. One patient ID from registration to discharge. No re-keying between modules.

Who it serves: hospitals, multi-site clinic groups, specialty centres and growing provider networks. Regulatory angle: UK GDPR-aligned access control, audit trails and data export; deployment models that support DTAC-style assessments and clinical safety case inputs.

  • EHR patient summary — vitals, alerts, orders and results in one view
  • Appointments & visits — scheduling, check-in and clinical documentation
  • Pharmacy & billing — prescriptions, invoicing and insurer workflows
  • Interop — FHIR R4, HL7 v2 and REST APIs for external systems
  • Multi-site — central configuration with site-level operational control

LIS

Prolab LIS — orders to validated results

Prolab LIS manages the full laboratory path — orders, barcode traceability, QC, instrument interfacing, validation and structured reports — integrated natively with Promed EHR or your existing clinical system. When a clinician orders a test, the same patient identifier travels from the EHR to the analyser and back; validated results post to the chart without manual entry; critical values escalate to the responsible clinician before they reach the ward round.

Who it serves: hospital labs, independent pathology providers, multisite networks and referral laboratories. Standards: LOINC-coded results, middleware-ready instrument paths, and ISO 15189-friendly traceability from order to report release.

  • Multisite lab dashboard — workloads, TAT and pending validation
  • Sample management — barcode routing and rejection workflows
  • Instrument middleware — analyser and external lab connections
  • LOINC-coded results — interoperability-ready reporting
  • Critical values — escalation paths back to responsible clinicians

Middleware

Device integration at clinical throughput

Yoctobe middleware connects analysers, point-of-care devices and imaging systems to LIS and EHR — with visual flow design, integrity checks and ASTM/HL7 format conversion. We maintain a catalogue of 300+ validated analyser interfaces and can integrate any instrument your laboratory runs — including complex multi-protocol platforms deployed in as little as three days.

Who it serves: laboratories, hospital wards with POC devices, imaging departments and device OEMs. Speed: catalogued instruments go live fast; bespoke drivers follow the same validated pipeline — cloud or on-prem, with documentation suitable for ISO 15189 and software safety files.

  • 3-day deployment — complex analysers live without months of vendor consultancy
  • 300+ interface catalogue — haematology, biochemistry, immunology, POC and more
  • Any analyser — ASTM, HL7, proprietary serial/TCP or file protocols
  • Bidirectional workflows — worklists out, validated results back to LIS/EHR
  • Audit & replay — full message logs for accreditation and dispute resolution

Healthcare data integration

Data

FHIR, HL7 and DICOM data flows

Connect EMRs, imaging, billing and patient portals with secure, auditable pipelines — real-time exchange without brittle point-to-point integrations that collapse every time a vendor updates their schema. Yoctobe integration layers sit between systems that will never share a single vendor: PAS, LIS, RIS, pharmacy, insurers and national programmes — with terminology mapping, error quarantine and operational dashboards built in.

Who it serves: hospital IT, healthtech vendors, regional programmes and clinic groups unifying portal and clinical data. Compliance: UK GDPR and EU data protection by design — subprocessors, retention and transfer mechanisms documented for procurement and regulator review.

  • FHIR R4 APIs — modern RESTful healthcare exchange
  • HL7 v2 messaging — ADT, ORU, ORM and legacy system bridges
  • DICOM routing — imaging archive and viewer integration
  • Master data sync — patient, provider and terminology alignment
  • Operational dashboards — volume, errors and SLA visibility

Audience

Who Yoctobe Platforms Serve

Yoctobe platforms fit organisations that treat healthcare software as operational infrastructure — not a one-off IT project. Hospital groups modernising clinical systems that have not changed since the early 2000s; independent clinic chains scaling across sites without multiplying their vendor list; laboratory and imaging providers whose results must reach referrers before the next outpatient appointment; and healthtech companies that need a credible clinical backbone for UKCA or CE-marked products.

Procurement teams benefit from a single supplier relationship across PMS, LIS, middleware and integration — shared security assessments, consistent support channels and roadmap alignment from the team that built the platforms. Clinical leaders get systems that respect workflow. Compliance officers get audit trails and documentation that map to UK GDPR, clinical safety standards and — where applicable — MDR software requirements.

Delivery approach

Configure, Integrate, Train, Support

Yoctobe does not drop software and disappear. Every platform engagement follows a phased path: discovery and site readiness, configuration against your workflows, integration to devices and external systems, user acceptance with clinical stakeholders, and go-live with hypercare. Training materials and admin runbooks transfer knowledge to your team; optional managed support keeps enhancements and monitoring with engineers who built the platform.

For EU deployments we align hosting, subprocessors and support access with GDPR expectations. For UK NHS suppliers we structure evidence for DTAC, clinical safety and information governance reviews — without treating compliance as a post-launch afterthought.

  • Discovery — workflows, sites, integrations and compliance requirements
  • Sandbox UAT — realistic test environments before production cutover
  • Integration sprints — devices, FHIR/HL7 feeds and billing connectors
  • Go-live hypercare — on-site or remote support during the critical window

FAQ

Common Questions

Can we deploy one solution or do we need the full stack?

Each platform stands alone: Prolab LIS with your existing EHR, middleware without replacing your LIS, or data integration only. Many customers start with one solution and expand — shared architecture makes later connections faster and cheaper than bolting on unrelated products.

How does Yoctobe support UK and EU regulatory requirements?

Access control, audit logging, retention and subprocessors are designed in — not added after procurement. We provide documentation for GDPR DPIAs, clinical safety cases and software files where MDR applies. Hosting and support models are agreed to match your jurisdiction.

What does implementation typically involve?

Discovery, configuration, integration, UAT and go-live — duration depends on sites, devices and external feeds. We run sandbox environments early so clinical users validate workflows before production. Hypercare covers the first weeks; ongoing support and enhancement retain the same engineering team.

Do you replace our existing PAS or laboratory system?

Not necessarily. Yoctobe often coexists with legacy systems during migration — middleware and data integration bridge old and new until you are ready to cut over. Rip-and-replace is a business decision; our job is to make whichever path you choose technically sound and auditable.

Need Custom Development?

Our services team builds bespoke SaMD, AIaMD and integration programmes aligned to ISO 13485 and MDR — extending these platforms or delivering entirely new regulated products.
