Creating a Patient and Assigning Them to a Ward Bed in Promed MRS
This section explains how to create a new patient record and assign the patient to a bed in a ward (e.g., Male Medical Ward).
Step 1: Create a New Patient
- Navigate to Register a Patient in the Promed MRS dashboard.
- Fill in the required details:
- Given Name / Family Name
- Gender
- Date of Birth / Age
- Address (optional)
- Identifier (if your facility uses one)
- Click Save to create the patient.

Step 2: Start Inpatient Visit
- Go to the newly created patient’s record.

Step 3: Record Vitals
Navigate to the Vitals / Observations section and enter the patient’s vital signs:

Save after recording all vitals.
Step 3: Record Biometrics
Record basic patient biometrics in the Biometrics / Measurements section:

Save the biometrics.
Step 4: Record Conditions
Navigate to Conditions / Diagnoses and add current health conditions:

| Recent Fever | Resolved |
Save the conditions.
Step 5: Record Active Medications
Go to Medications / Prescriptions and enter ongoing treatments:

| Lisinopril | 10 mg once daily | Oral |
| Paracetamol | 500 mg as needed | Oral |
Save the medications.

Step 6: Add Notes
In the Notes / Observations section, record any additional information about the patient:
- Patient reports fatigue and mild shortness of breath.
- Symptoms started 3 days ago.
- No known allergies.
Save the notes.
Print Patient Sticker

Admit Patient
Go to wards > admission requests > Admit patient to ward (assuming your are in the Male Medical Ward)

Select a bed

Now you can see the bed occupied

Do not end the visit until the patient is truly discharged.
