Bidirectional workflow between Prolab LIS and the Beckman Coulter DxI 9000
A Prolab LIS order goes to the Beckman Coulter DxI 9000. The middleware sends tests whose status is Pending (En attente). The same path is used when the laboratory reruns an assay.
Table 1. Statuses that trigger a send.
| Moment | Status in Prolab | What happens next |
|---|---|---|
| Order saved | Pending (En attente) | The middleware sends the tests |
| Send complete | Active (Actif) | The sample is received on the analyzer |
| Rerun | Rerun (Refaire) or Pending | The order is sent to the analyzer again |
Create the order
From the dashboard
On the dashboard, click New order (Nouvelle demande).

Select the tests to run, then save. For this analyzer, the group is Immunodosage – Beckman Coulter DXI 9000.

After you save, the list of tests to send is available. The panel on the right opens ordered tests and results.

Send the tests
From Pending to Active
On Ordered tests (Tests demandés), rows in Pending go to the analyzer. The middleware sends them. The technologist does not send them by hand.

Once the tests are sent, the status changes to Active (Actif).

On the analyzer, the sample arrives on the Samples screen (Échantillons).

Rerun an assay
Two ways
The technologist can rerun tests in two ways. The analyzer receives the order and runs it again.
Table 2. The two reruns.
| Starting point | Action |
|---|---|
| Ordered tests | Select one or more tests. Change the status from Active to Rerun (Refaire), or to Pending (En attente). |
| Results | Open the assay results. Set the status to Rerun (Refaire). |
From the Ordered tests tab, a multi-select changes several rows at once.

From the results, the change is made on the test concerned.

The ordered-test status updates on its own. The middleware then sends the orders to the analyzer again.
